🎭 Cognitive Distortions

Common thinking traps that make things feel worse than they are.

📖 5-minute read

Cognitive distortions are habits of thinking that twist reality. They aren't a moral failure — most of them developed as survival strategies when the world felt unsafe.

The most common: all-or-nothing thinking, catastrophising, mind-reading, fortune telling, emotional reasoning, should-statements, labelling, and personalisation.

You don't need to eliminate them. You just need to notice which one is running, name it, and let that awareness loosen its grip.
