Communicating needs

Naming a need directly, without testing whether it will be noticed.

One structure people find manageable

  1. 1The situationDescribe it plainly, without interpretation.
  2. 2What I feltOne word is enough.
  3. 3What I needSpecific and small enough to be possible.
  4. 4The invitationAsk, rather than require agreement immediately.
Asking directly can feel exposing when indirect asking kept you safe for years. Feeling awkward is not a sign it is going wrong.
